The summer holidays can be a wonderful time for families to spend quality time together! But… sometimes those six (almost seven) long weeks can be difficult to fill, particularly when you are trying to juggle work, childcare and holidays and you just haven’t quite managed to fill every waking moment! I thought it might be helpful to provide a few last minute activity ideas to do at home or in the local Surrey area.

Squiggle, Dot and Squeeze – Craft boxes

If your children are anything like mine, ignite their imagination and they become inspired and entertained for hours! Squiggle, Dot and Squeeze provide beautiful personalised craft boxes with everything you need to get your little one’s imagination running wild.  There is something for everyone, Moon’s and Monsters, Nature’s Garden, Counting Continents and Time Travel to name a few.

Check out their website for more information: www.squiggledotandsqueeze.co.uk

Famous Five Fun!
I know I used to love the adventures of the Famous Five, why not pop along to Wisley Garden where they are running a Famous Five on a Garden Adventure theme until the beginning of September. There’s loads of activities including a self guided tour where you’ll get to crack the mystery of missing Uncle Quentin, sow cress for your egg sandwiches, watch amazing birds of prey in flight, and much more.

Gruffalo Spotting!

They love their tablet time right?  Why not get the best of both worlds and get them outside in the fresh air whilst having some technology time. I just love the Gruffalo Spotters trail at Alice Holt, it really gets little one’s imaginations going!  Head off on a journey through the woods looking for the character clues. Just make sure you download the app before you head off!

Giant sized Monopoly for all the family!
Enjoy family board games? Why not go down to the beautiful National Trust property Polesden Lacey for some family fun with their Polesdenopoly! Explore the beautiful Edwardian estate and gardens whilst playing their giant board game. There are a number of dates throughout the summer holidays.
